The Lotus fabric fiber identified by our supplier is a cellulosic fiber extracted from the proteins contained in the leaves and seeds of Lotus plants (Nelumbo nucifera). The fabric worked in Italy looks like a raw silk or a very soft antique linen, of an ecru color; it is almost crumple. Lotus fiber also has several beneficial properties for the body: it regulates the exchange of moisture in the epidermis with the outside and is breathable. It is totally biodegradable. The roots of this aquatic plant sink into the mud, therefore it preserves its ecosystem (water, flora, fauna) and brings out a flower that exudes a dazzling purity. Thus the meaning of the lotus flower is linked to the concept of purity of soul and body, a symbol of spiritual elevation.

Structurally, the fiber of Hemp (Cannabis stiva) is hollow and hygroscopic, from which a yarn with a high thermal insulating and breathable capacity is obtained, which behaves like wool: cool in summer and warm in winter. Among the natural fibers most resistant to textile processing, hemp makes it possible to create a fabric that is more resistant to mechanical action, wear, tear and deformation than any other natural fabric. The woven fiber reflects ultraviolet rays, shields from electrostatic fields, does not conduct electricity, does not irritate the skin because it is hypoallergenic and being antiseptic, it keeps bacteria away from the surface of our body and does not allow the formation of bad odors or development. of mold. In the environment, hemp plantations do not require aggressive treatments with pesticides, herbicides or other chemicals.

The Nettle-Ramie fiber is elastic, resists twisting, and unlike other fibers its strength increases over time. Releases the same delicacy and lightness of silk. The fiber is long, shiny and uniform; it also possesses antistatic properties.

Nettle-ramie is today a sought-after fiber because it is sustainable, the plant (Boehmeria nivea) is virtuous, it grows spontaneously under different latitudes; unlike cotton (a tropical plant only) it does not need water, fertilizers or pesticides. It is 100% biodegradable.

The fabric is produced in Italy using yarns through mechanical processing without undergoing chemical processes that modify its structure.
